English Course Description |
This course integrates the tourism and leisure industry, exploring innovative business models and strategies, covering essential topics such as the sharing economy, new retail, financing, business expansion, competitive advantage, and risk management, with a particular focus on applications within the tourism and leisure sector.
The course begins by examining the application of the sharing economy in tourism and leisure, such as shifting from “buying to renting” for travel accommodations and transportation, thus enhancing asset multitasking and resource sharing efficiency. Next, it delves into the transformation of new retail in tourism, analyzing the impact of data empowerment, unmanned commerce, and the short-circuit economy on tourist consumption, and explores how brand experience stores enhance visitors’ experiences.
In the financing module, we will discuss how tourism entrepreneurs can secure venture capital and apply leverage theory to amplify the strengths of products, teams, and capital. The moat theory then guides students in understanding how to build long-term competitive advantages through cost advantages and network effects, with a particular focus on strategies for building brand loyalty in the tourism and leisure industry.
Additionally, the course utilizes tools like SWOT analysis and business model canvases to help students develop strategies suitable for the tourism market, and explores how to adapt flexibly in a rapidly changing market. Finally, we address common business pitfalls in the tourism sector, such as risks associated with illegal fundraising, to enhance professional judgment.
Through case studies and interactive discussions, this course will strengthen students' business acumen and innovative thinking within the tourism and leisure industry, equipping them to meet future challenges and enhance their professional competitiveness. |
