本課程將以1990年代的同志研究(lesbian and gay study)與當前的同志(LGBT)政治為對話對象與分水嶺(point of departure)。針對同志與女性主義的正典化趨勢,不同路線的酷兒理論分別引介且論證著邊緣的性(sexuality)與酷異性別(queer genders)的不從、異議、反生命治理、拒絕常態化、乃至於和當前的左翼批判論述交織,集體地對抗並試圖消解「婚家國資本連續體」。本課程將使用當前中文與英文學界的前鋒酷兒理論家作品為主要讀本,首先,學生需要細緻閱讀課程材料提供的文化研究、罔兩(penumbra)酷兒戰略、旁若文學研究(para-literary study)、激進神學、中產公民社會批判、對於同志正典(新正常)主義的再思考,並充分理解從法蘭克福學派迄今的新酷兒學派如何拒絕歷史直線進步論。再者,本課程的內容聚焦於如何以酷異性別敏感的意識形態投入身體、勞動、思惟概念、物質經濟處境、社會結構等界面的重構與拆解,偕同少數眾的主體性,與現行的主導霸權進行對話並從事公共性干涉。

English Course Description
This course concentrates on the dynamics between queer theoretic approach and present-day LGBY politics and treats the canonized lesbian and gay study from 1990 as a point of departure and referential crossroad. Confronting emergent normative gay lifestyle and homo-nationalist feminism, this seminar will provide various theories on queer tactics and introduce how marginal sexualities and queer genders form a coalition and a possible militant community among dissident subjects, politics of refusal, and new left critique on state-familial governance. On seminars, the instructor will require students to closely analyze queer textual materials along the line with production of knowledge on cultural study, penumbra queer tactics, para-literary study, radical theology, critique on middle-class citizenship, and re-engagement on reflecting new normal (homo-normative) interpellation. We also hope to guide students to understand critically through different formations on radical sexuality, such as the criticism by Frankfurt School and negative queer dialectics, to refute one-dimensional imagination on progressive teleological end-product. On the other hand, we shall invest on deconstruction and renovation of bodies, labor, ontological concept, economic/material conditions, and social structures with queer gender sensitivity. Together with subjectivity of minor multitude, we are going to endeavor multi-layered conversations and public interventions to confront status-quo and dominant hegemony.
