此課程目的主要提供實用進階英語課程,此為一般通用英語,訓練學生精通英語使用。修習對象為大二以上學生選修,且須修畢語言視聽教育中心所開設之大一「英語聽講實習」及「中階英語」課程。 此課程為學期課每星期二小時二學分,課程設計分為主題式及分組討論,包括流暢的英語會話訓練、跨文化溝通及文學賞析,其內容更包括 跨學科主題討論。 具體目標訓練學生能以英語上課、了解英語演講及一般實用會話並學習簡報及公開演說技巧,以為未來職業生涯做準備。

English Course Description
The proposed course offers an advanced applied English curriculum. This general English language proficiency course is an elective for second, third and fourth-year students who have completed the Practical English Usage course and the Intermediate English Usage course offered by the Language Center. The tentative title for this proposed one-semester course is Advanced English Usage. The course will be a two credit-hour course with two hours of class time that meets once a week. The only prerequisite for the course is that the students have completed the Intermediate English Usage course. This elective course will have a thematic and integrative curriculum that includes advanced fluency in conversation and inter-cultural communication. The content of the course will include interdisciplinary topics such as the media and the environment. Specific goals of the course will include training students to understand extended, authentic conversation, and lectures. In addition, students will also learn presentation and public speaking skills, grooming them for success in their chosen careers.

Course Objectives
"Movies, Music, and More": the goal of the course is to improve English conversation skills by considering various media such as movies, songs,and more. Students will make significant gains with regards to vocabulary and speaking confidence.
授課方式
Approach to Instruction
Classes will be highly interactive with students having many opportunities to practice conversation in guided activities. Students will learn English intensively in a fun and relaxed environment.

Introductory essay - 10 %
